Our sister brand TC Time Walk's daily two-hour walk through Taichung's old town — it runs even if you're the only one booked, and you decide the tip at the end.

Two hours on foot through Taichung's historic old town, covering just 400 metres as the crow flies — from the 1917 station and Miyahara to the Green River, ASEAN Square, Herb Street and the Sun Cake Museum. It's run every day by our sister brand TC Time Walk and led by a local guide from one of more than 70 lines of work, trained for 18 hours before they lead — a Taichung local with a life of their own, not someone reciting a script. Tours run in English or Mandarin. There's no set price: at the end you tip what it was worth. Add it to your charter and pick one of TC Time Walk's fixed sessions; our driver can drop you at the meeting point.

    Two hours in the old town

    Meet at the Visitor Center of Taichung Station (2F) · Taichung Station · Miyahara · Xinsheng Bridge · Green River · Sakura Bridge · ASEAN Square · Herb Street · Sun Cake Museum · Fourth Credit Union. Your guide adjusts the order to the weather and crowds. Sessions: weekdays 19:00–21:00; weekends 10:00, 13:30 and 16:30.

FAQ

Do I need to book ahead? Does it run if I'm the only one?

Please book at least 48 hours ahead so TC Time Walk can roster a guide for that session. One booking is enough — it runs without waiting for a group.

Does it run in the rain?

Yes, rain or shine — unless the government suspends work and school for a typhoon. Bring an umbrella.

How much should I tip?

It's up to you. As a reference: NT$300 per person (nice), NT$400–800 (great), NT$1,000+ (awesome). Cash on the day is fine; some guides also take mobile payment.
